This Coney Island Series was taken in 2007 when I came to Coney Island for the first time. I was under the impression that Coney was going to be demolished by developers, so I set out to document it for what I thought would be the only time. Since then, Coney Island has gone through some turbulent times and changes, but it is not extinct! I've continued photographing and meeting people in Coney Island for the past few years and have created Coney Island Loves 2007-2009, an audio and photographic compilation of people's voices and images:
